FunGarvan - Team Bonding Trip

MDP Advisors’ Bonding Trip: Sunsets, Sea Swims & Unforgettable Memories in Dungarvan

There’s something magical about hitting the road with your team – especially when the destination promises laughter, bonding, and a healthy dose of adventure. Last Wednesday at 3 PM, our group of Marketing Development Practice (MDP) advisors set off from Dublin, squeezing ourselves and our over-packed bags onto the bus. Spirits were high as we made a quick pit stop at Circle K on the M9 in Kilcullen, where the advisors stocked up on snacks (and maybe a few cheeky beverages) to keep us going for the road ahead.

By 7 PM, we landed at the Gold Coast Resort in Dungarvan – our home for the next couple of days. Nestled along the scenic coastline, the accommodation was ideal, with our class split into three neighbouring houses that gave off serious summer camp vibes. Once we unpacked and grabbed a well-earned dinner, we gathered outside on the benches to catch the sunset – and toast to the weekend ahead with a few evening drinks.

Day One: Sweat, Sea & Serious Competition

We kicked off the next morning the only way a group of high-energy advisors knows how – a 5k run to blow away the cobwebs and get the energy flowing. Feeling (surprisingly) refreshed, we followed that up with a lively tennis match. With a mix of skill levels on the court, the game was full of laughs, surprises, and the kind of good-natured competitiveness that defines our crew.

Just before lunch, we headed down to the sea for a rejuvenating swim. Bracing, bold, and absolutely worth it – nothing beats that post-dip high.

In the afternoon, things got seriously heated in a classic game of 30 Seconds. Tensions ran high, laughter echoed through the house, and in the end, Jane, Grace, and Lilly took a well-deserved win. Competitive spirits: satisfied.

Evening Antics: Kris Kindle & Birthday Cheers

As the sun dipped again, we got ready for our night out – but with a twist. The social team had organised a themed Kris Kindle, where each person had to bring a random item from home for someone else to wear or carry out with them. From sparkly tiaras to curly wigs to a photo frame of Harriet (yes, really) – no one escaped.

Our party bus picked us up and dropped us into the heart of Dungarvan, where we enjoyed a delicious meal at 360 Cookhouse. We raised our glasses to celebrate Alice’s and Lilly’s birthdays, adding an extra sparkle to an already magical evening.

From there, we danced our way into the night at a local bar – a blur of music, joy, and unforgettable moves.

Homeward Bound (But Not Without the Memories)

At 12:30 AM, the bus collected our merry crew and brought us back to the Gold Coast houses. Tired, happy, and full of stories, we tucked in with full hearts and big smiles.

Trips like these aren’t just about the location – they’re about the connections made, the inside jokes born, and the bonds that grow stronger outside the walls of an office or classroom. This one? It hit all the right notes.

Until next time, Dungarvan. 🌅💛
