The Opportunity
Beacon Medical Group engaged the MDP to conduct in-depth secondary market research into major healthcare trends and the emergence of innovative health screening technologies. The objective was to identify strategic investment opportunities for Beacon Medical Group within the healthcare sector by conducting research using both UCD resources and information available in the public domain.
The Challenge
The team used extensive research methods in the form of secondary research to assess healthcare trends across the EU and specifically in Ireland. This allowed the team to identify which markets within healthcare are growing.
The insights developed enabled the MDP to identify the most promising areas for further exploration or investment by Beacon Medical Group and to present these complex findings to the client in a clear and comprehensive manner.
The Results
The MDP successfully presented their findings to the client through a comprehensive presentation. They identified four major global trends: AI in healthcare, ageing populations, GLP-1 medications, and pandemic preparedness. Additionally, they highlighted emerging trends in preventative health screening, both in-home and hospital-based.
Through this work, the MDP met the objective of identifying broad healthcare trends to support Beacon Medical Group’s strategic decision-making.
